An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Death Takes a Holiday, the 1934 Mitchell Leisen romantic afterlife fantasy melodrama ("Men feared him -- Women adored him"; adapted from the play by Alberto Casella; a very interesting story of the literal Death deciding to visit the Earth and discover why people fear him so, and while he is on Earth in human form, everyone stops dying, and of course, he falls in love, and the girl, not knowing who he is, wants to go with him when he returns to his ethereal home!) starring Fredric March (in the title role as "Death"/Prince Sirki), Evelyn Venable, Guy Standing (billed as "Sir Guy Standing"), Kent Taylor, Henry Travers, and Kathleen Howard

Important Added Info: Note that ANY posters or lobby cards from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a window card (which sold for $1,150 in "fair" condition) and two other scene cards (neither of which showed Fredric March) from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this third lobby card, which DOES show Fredric March! Note that there is a stamp on the back that reads "FROM THE COLLECTION OF Michael R. Hawks", who most would consider the premier lobby card collector and expert in the world (and he is still an active collector, looking for the last few items he needs!). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There are tack holes in the corners and a diagonal crease in the bottom right corner that extends into the man's sleeve. There are paper remnants in the far right of the top blank border where some kind of snipe was once attached. There are tape repairs on the back of the right corners.
