A Woman - Trying to escape her future!" "'Don't try to get rid of me for another woman... ...it won't work!"'; based on the novel 'Build My Gallows High' by Daniel Mainwaring; a great story of a private investigator who is hired by a gangster to find his missing mistress, and he does so, but then he falls for her, and starts a romance with her, even though he knows he is likely signing his death warrant) starring Robert Mitchum, Jane Greer, Kirk Douglas (in his third movie role!), Rhonda Fleming, Richard Webb, Steve Brodie, Dickie Moore, Virginia Huston, Paul Valentine, and Ken Niles NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that after Kirk Douglas achieved great success in the early 1950s, this classic film noir movie was re-released to theaters in 1953, and Kirk Douglas was given deservedly equal billing to the other three stars in the credits. However, for the lobby card set, the scenes from the original set were re-used, so Douglas still only appears in one of the cards. Note also that these cards (which are equally as scarce as those from the original release) are in virtually perfect condition! One of the cards (the one with Greer standing in the doorway with Mitchum by the couch) has three tiny pinholes near the center of the image, but none of the other cards have even a single pinhole, and they look like they were just printed!
