An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Law Commands, the 1937 William Nigh Civil War era cowboy western (based on the story by Bennett Cohen; set in 1862, when the Homestead Act was just passed, and the plot is similar to Shane, with a big cattleman trying to drive out all the townspeople, and a local doctor tries to keep them from killing the cattleman, and they make him sheriff, and he solves their problem!) starring Tom Keene, Lorraine Randall (billed as "Lorraine Hayes"), Budd Buster, Matthew Betz (billed as "Mathew Betz"), and Robert Fiske NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: poor to fair. The poster had tears and areas of paper loss along most of the folds, with tears and stains around the edges. Overall, the poster was in poor to fair condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was not well backed, both because the poster is "lifting" from the linen around the edges (there is no excess), and also because the person who restored the poster tried to fix the paper loss in Keene's face by painting over a lot of it, and that did not improve that area in the slightest, and actually made it much worse. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its really significant defects. Learn More about condition grades
