Impossible to get rid of.."; produced by Hal Roach; about a country doctor who cures a sick circus elephant, and afterwards, the elephant follows him everywhere!) starring Oliver Hardy (in a solo appearance without Stan Laurel), Harry Langdon, Billie Burke, Alice Brady, James Ellison, Jean Parker, June Lang, Stepin Fetchit, Hall Johnson Choir, Hattie McDaniel, Philip Hurlic, and Zenobia the elephant (in the title role!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three "other company" lobby cards (see below) from this movie, and those all showed the same scene! This "other company" card shows a different scene than the previous three! This was printed by Associated Displays Corporation which was a company based in New York City. Before it was discovered by noted poster dealer/historian Walter Reuben, collectors did not know the name of this company (and thought it to be located in the Midwest), and it is often referred to as the "other company" (and we will continue to refer to it that way, since collectors know it that way). From 1936 to roughly 1941, this company printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts, half-sheets, three-sheets, 40x60s and stills) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The items almost always feature a tiny legal disclaimer and cast credits only. The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They did this by combining elements from different film scenes onto one poster or card. Sometimes, "other company" posters have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters. Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good.
