An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #10 (Trail of Treachery) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Congo Bill, King of the Jungle, the 1948 Spencer Gordon Bennet & Thomas Carr Africa comic book character jungle safari action adventure serial ("Based upon the comic strip, 'Congo Bill', appearing in 'Action Comics' magazine, created by Whitney Ellsworth"; "A mad gorilla strikes!"; "By Arrangement with National Comics Publications, inc."; "From the company that gave you SUPERMAN... another super serial!"; "A Columbia Serial") starring Don McGuire (in the title role "as Congo Bill"), Cleo Moore (as the White Queen!), Jack Ingram, I. Stanford Jolley, Neyle Morrow, and Ray 'Crash' Corrigan (as the gorilla!). Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Glenn Cravath Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and some small tears and small paper loss on parts of some folds, and some paper loss in small parts of the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Also, the restoration paint that was used in the left half of the bottom horizontal fold and in the vertical fold between the middle and bottom folds has discolored somewhat, so it is more noticeable now than it was when the poster was first backed (see our image).
