An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Hell's Kitchen, the 1939 E.A. Dupont (Ewald Andre Dupont) & Lewis Seiler New York City teenage delinquent reform school melodrama ("We're fightin' the whole world... And we're tryin' to fight clean!"; "Crowded with action!"; "They are fighting the battle a thousand forgotten killers fought... and lost! ...It's a fight to go straight... to overcome the evil every gutter kid must face! Can they do it? You'll find out... in the most exciting picture the 'Dead End' Kids have ever made!"; "From an original story by Crane Wilbur") starring The Dead End Kids (including Billy Halop, Bobby Jordan, Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall, and Gabriel Dell), Margaret Lindsay, Ronald Reagan, Stanley Fields, and Grant Mitchell. Note that this movie was basically a remake of the 1933 Warner Bros. movie "The Mayor of Hell", starring James Cagney. Warner Bros. must have REALLY loved this plot, because they used it in 1938's "Crime School", with the Dead End Kids and Humphrey Bogart, and then they reused it in this movie, the very next year! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had small paper loss at each crossfold with small paper loss and tears to the left and right of the bottom two crossfolds. The borders had small tears and smudges, and the restorer painted over them, in an effort to even them out (it is only noticeable when looking extremely closely at the poster). While this poster has had some restoration, there really is not all that much that is wrong with the image area. The poster displays quite nicely, and I would think most collectors would be quite happy to have it on their wall! Learn More about condition grades
