An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian One-Panel (known in Italy as a "2 Fogli") Movie Poster (1p; measures 39" x 55" [99 x 140 cm]) (Learn More) Some Like It Hot, the classic 1959 Billy Wilder (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic musical cross-dressing drag crime comedy ("Hot!!!"; about two out of work musicians who happen to witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago, and they need to leave town in a hurry, but the only jobs they can get is with an all-girl band, and they dress in drag, and one of the band members is Marilyn Monroe!) starring Marilyn Monroe ("and her bosom companions"), Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), George Raft, Pat O'Brien, and Joe E. Brown (the great star of 1920s and 1930s slapstick comedy, who practically steals this movie with a wonderful comic performance and an unforgettable final line!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Giorgio Olivetti Important Added Info: Note that this is the incredibly rare very first Italian release one-panel! It is SO rare that examples of the early 1960s re-release are often sold as the first Italian release. We have auctioned this poster twice before, but they were both 20 years ago, and we have not had the poster from that time until now. Note that Giorgio Olivetti did the art for both this poster and the early re-release, but the original poster has the three stars under a beach umbrella and the re-release poster has them playing musical instruments. Condition: good to very good. The poster has pieces of tape on the back of each corner and in the center of the top and bottom borders, and they have bled through to the front. There are also pinholes in the corners and some small tears and tiny paper loss in the borders. There is a piece of tape on the back of each crossfold and on the back of a small tear in the upper right background area. Learn More about condition grades
