An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Large Italian Photobusta Movie Poster (measures 26" x 37") (Learn More) I Racconti di Canterbury (released in the U.S. in 1980 as "The Canterbury Tales"), the 1972 Pier Paolo Pasolini Italian/French surreal sexploitation melodrama ("Based on the Canterbury Tales by G. Chaucer") starring Hugh Griffith, Laura Betti, Ninetto Davoli, Franco Citti, Josephine Chaplin, and Alan Webb. Note that it appears that this movie was apparently released outside the U.S. in other English-speaking countries in 1973, as we have sold several international items with a 1973 date on them. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this partially Italian movie! Note that this poster contains artwork of unclothed women, so we have placed a white bar over those areas, for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual poster does not have those white bars! Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. Condition: good to very good. The poster had tiny holes that form numbers in the top right blank area and in the bottom right credits area (typical of Italian photobustas of this period). There were many creases and scuffs on each fold and a few scuffs scattered through the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed. The restorer did slight touch up to the foldlines, but left alone the scuffs in the image and the tiny holes that form numbers. Learn More about condition grades
