A 1946 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Mark of Zorro, the 1940 Rouben Mamoulian south-of-the-border masked hero romantic action adventure thriller ("The jagged mark of his sword struck terror to every heart - but one!"; "Who was the bold masked adventurer whose mocking laughter left terror in every heart - but one?"; "Based on the story by Johnston McCulley") starring Tyrone Power Jr. ("in the most famous of all screen roles"; in the title role as Zorro/Don Diego Vega), Linda Darnell (just 16 years old during filming!), Basil Rathbone, Gale Sondergaard, Eugene Pallette, Montagu Love, J. Edward Bromberg, Robert Lowery, Chris-Pin Martin, and Janet Beecher NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and tears, creases, and small paper loss on many foldlines. There were tears, creases, pinholes, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. The poster was pretty well linenbacked, but you can clearly see signs of the restoration along all the foldlines, even from a distance. Learn More about condition grades
