An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Dodge City Trail, the 1936 Charles C. Coleman (billed as "C.C. Coleman, Jr.") Kansas singing cowboy western musical ("Hit the thrill trail with these singing sons of the saddle!"; "A musical saga of the West!"; based on the story by Harold Shumate) starring Charles Starrett, Donald Grayson (billed as "The New Singing Sensation Donald Grayson"; in his first movie role!), Marion Weldon, Russell Hicks, and Si Jenks. Note that the career of Donald Grayson is one of those sad Hollywood stories you read about. He got his big break when Roy Rogers became a major star and a new singer was needed for The Sons of the Pioneers, and he sang a song with them in this movie. He then made a few more movies for Columbia, including this one, where he got great billing. He left to join Spike Jones and His City Slickers in the early 1940s, but then his career went rapidly downhill, due to his major alcohol problems, and he passed away in 1958, at just 49 years of age. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. There is a light water stain in the bottom left and a few dot stains in the borders. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition.
