What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had many pairs of staple holes and minor stains in the blank borders. There was a pair of staple holes 2 1/2" below the top crossfold and one between "M" and "A" in the title. There was staining in the bottom center edge of the yellow background. There was separation, creases, and a few tiny tears on parts of some foldlines. There were some green dot stains scattered down the right edge of the poster with a few entering the yellow background. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and displays well, but the restorer did not touch up the green dot stains down the right side (or they were acquired after the poster was linenbacked). Any talented restorer could easily touch up those areas without re-backing the poster, but they are not very distracting.
