9d450 LOT OF 10 FORMERLY TRI-FOLDED JAPANESE B2 POSTERS WITH ENGLISH SUB-TITLES SNIPES 1960s cool!

Date Sold 9/9/2018
Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price.

a lot of 10 formerly tri-folded Japanese B2 posters with English subtitles snipes. Note that after World War II, the U.S. had a large number of American servicemen stationed in Japan, and movie theaters would sometimes show Japanese movies with English subtitles, so that Americans who did not speak Japanese could attend those showings. When they did, they would put a paper snipe on the poster that said "ENGLISH SUB-TITLES". All of the posters in this lot have such a snipe. It can be removed by a professional or talented amateur (or of course, the posters could be left "as is"). We are also auctioning other lots of posters from this same time period that do NOT have snipes on them. Note that the items in this lot are from the 1960s. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of all of them.

Condition: good. All the posters have a "English Sub-Titles" snipe (see above). All of the posters have fold and border wear, and many have pieces of tape or tape stains around the edges (see our images).
