An Original Vintage Theatrical Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Babes in Arms, the 1939 Busby Berkeley romantic juvenile let's-put-on-a-show musical ("The Big Musical Fun Show!"; "Based on the play by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart"; Mickey is the son of vaudevillians who want to put on a traveling show that will bring back vaudeville, but Mickey and Judy organize their own show, with "modern" songs, and with no money for staging, they put on an incredible show!) starring Mickey Rooney (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Judy Garland, Charles Winninger, Guy Kibbee, June Preisser, Grace Hayes, Betty Jaynes, Douglas McPhail, Rand Brooks, Leni Lynn, and Johnny Sheffield (billed as "John Sheffield"). This is one of the absolute best "let's put on a show" musicals of the 1930s or 1940s, which is not surprising, since it combines the talents of Rodgers & Hart, Busby Berkeley, and Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland! It had creases and tiny bits of surface paper loss on both foldlines, with small paper loss in the left end of the horizontal fold, in the blank border. It had pinholes in the corners, with small paper loss in the right blank corners. It had stains in the right of the bottom border, extending up into the background area below the dancers. Someone glued this poster to a heavy board and then performed slight amateur restoration to the folds and borders. If I owned this wonderful poster, I would surely have it removed from the board and professionally paperbacked, after which it would look incredible! Learn More about condition grades
