Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey, the 1945 circus poster ("The Greatest Show on Earth") featuring great artwork of a clown by Bill Bailey! Note that the poster is both dated and has the artist's signature in the lower left! The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years.

Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this circus poster, and only one in the last 6 years!

Condition: very good. A previous owner of this poster glued and partially taped together each pair of two pieces of the poster to make it easier to display (it was originally printed in 4 sections). Otherwise, it has some pretty minor fold and border wear.
