An Original 1954 (from the first release of this movie in Spain) Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Herald (measures 4" x 5 1/2" [10 x 14 cm]) (Learn More) William Wyler's Roman Holiday, the 1953 William Wyler (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) Rome Italy romantic royal-princess-falls-in-love-with-commoner comedy ("Story by Ian McLellan Hunter"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Eddie Albert (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Hartley Power, Harcourt Williams, Paolo Carlini, and Margaret Rawlings NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: DGZ Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned several examples of a Spanish herald that we THOUGHT was from the first Spanish release, but we were wrong! We now know that, because THIS herald is the incredibly rare first Spanish herald, which we have only auctioned once before (this has Paramount on it, while the other one has "Mercurio", which likely is from 1955 or 1956)! We are currently auctioning one of those early re-release heralds from this movie in a separate auction. Also note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front. Condition: very good to fine. Note that we have previously auctioned several examples of Spanish heralds like this one that we thought were from the first Spanish release, but we now think we were likely incorrect. We have now auctioned a rare Spanish herald with 1954 (the first release date of this movie in Madrid) printed on the front, and please note that we have previously auctioned several examples of Spanish heralds like this one that we thought were from the first Spanish release, but we now think we were likely incorrect. We have now auctioned a rare Spanish herald with 1954 (the first release date of this movie in Madrid) printed on the front, and Paramount above the art (and we have another example of that rare herald in this set of auctions). This other style of herald does not have a date printed on the front and mentions Mercurio instead of Paramount, and ones like this have been found with mid-1950s (1955 & 1956) printed on the backs, so this is likely from a very early re-release in Spain. So we are identifying this herald as "R1950s" (likely from 1955 or 1956). Also note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front.
