Uproarious Fun!"; "The Big Musical Show!"; "'Let there be wine, women and song. On second thought... Never mind the wine and the song!'"; about a singer who inherits a department store, and she hires a detective to protect her from its crooked manager) starring The Marx Brothers (Groucho Marx [as Wolf J. Flywheel], Chico Marx [as Ravelli], and Harpo Marx [as Wacky]), Tony Martin, Virginia Grey, Margaret Dumont, Douglass Dumbrille, Marion Martin, Henry Armetta, and Ann Demitrio. Artist: Al Hirschfeld Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this style C one-sheet, and that was 27 years ago! The style D one-sheet has a MUCH inferior image, with only a small amount of Hirschfeld art, and a duotone photo inset, and that poster is also extremely rare! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and tears and small paper loss in the top quarter of the vertical fold and a lesser amount on the other folds. It had some pinholes, stains, and small paper loss around the edges, with a few smudges and stains scattered in the image. It had paper loss in the bottom left corner that extended into the lettering there, and a tape stain in the bottom background area to the right of the word "FUN!". Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. If I owned this great and extremely rare poster, I would surely either have additional restoration performed, or have it re-backed, after which it will display wonderfully!
