Surprisingly, Hollywood did not recognize the talents of this beautiful actress for years, because she had a long string of tiny or uncredited roles before she became a star! Some of her movies include: Mogambo (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Killers, On the Beach, The Barefoot Contessa, Bhowani Junction, and many others! She was married three times to famous celebrities: Mickey Rooney, Artie Shaw, and Frank Sinatra. She also struck a friendship with Ernest Hemingway, who, after witnessing Gardner swim naked in his pool, told his staff "the water is not to be emptied"! She passed away in 1990 at the age of 67. AND Artie Shaw was a legendary American clarinetist, composer, and bandleader from the 1920s to the 2000s. Some of his works include: Begin the Beguine, Stardust, and Moonglow. He was married an astounding 8 times, with his two most notable wives being Lana Turner and Ava Gardner. He passed away in 2004 at the age of 94.
