A 1951 Realart Re-Release Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Werewolf of London, the 1935 Stuart Walker England monster horror thriller ("Beware! Terror strikes in the night"; "Murder in the moonlight! Terror stalks! An unseen hand strikes!"; "Beware the wicked hour and the stalking being!"; "Beware the stalking being, half human, half beast!") starring Henry Hull (in the title role as the werewolf), Warner Oland (best remembered as Charlie Chan in the 20th Century Fox series), Valerie Hobson, Lester Matthews, Clark Williams, Spring Byington, Lawrence Grant, and J.M. Kerrigan. Note that this is the "forgotten" Universal horror movie of the 1930s, because Universal abandoned this portrayal of the werewolf, and created an entirely different wolf-man in 1941 with Lon Chaney Jr. in very different makeup from that which Henry Hull wore in this movie. But this was Universal's very first werewolf movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned four examples of this 1951 Realart re-release title card, and the last one sold for $603! We are also currently auctioning a 1935 first release scene card in a separate auction. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card had pinholes, many small tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges, only slightly entering into the image or credits in a few places. Someone performed restoration to the front and back of the borders without backing the card, using tape on the back and some paint on the front (see both of our images). There are also some smudges and scuffs scattered throughout the card, more so in the upper right background area, but extending into Hull's chin and the hand under it.
