An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Pack Up Your Troubles, the 1932 George Marshall & Ray McCarey World War I (WWI) military comedy (with dialogue written by H.M. Walker, and produced by Hal Roach; a clever story of the boys finding an orphan girl and wanting to find her relatives, but all they know is her name is "Smith", so they search through all the Smiths in the phone book) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Don Dillaway, Jackie Lyn Dufton (billed as "Jacqueline Taylor"), Mary Carr, and James Finlayson. Note that Mary Carr became a major star in the mid 1910s around the age of 40, playing the parts of saintly mothers. She continued to make movies (switching to grandmother roles) through the mid 1930s, and then continued with mostly uncredited parts until the mid 1950s. She passed away in 1973 at the age of 99! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Al Hirschfeld Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. NOTE THAT THIS POSTER WAS PAPERBACKED BY A MUSEUM RESTORER! They use the finest methods to back the poster (both materials and methods) and they only fix any damaged or missing areas, and completely leave alone any areas that do not need restoration. A quality museum paperbacking is the very finest method of restoration and preservation (in case you were wondering why everyone does not do this, it is because the museum restorers charge a minimum of several hundred dollars to do each poster!). Condition: very good to fine. the poster had minor smudges, a few creases, and a few small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster; there was a small hole in the "A" of "LAUREL" at the top center of the poster; there were very tiny holes at the middle and bottom crossfolds and the most minor of border wear. The poster was wonderfully paperbacked by museum restorers, and it looks incredible! Learn More about condition grades
