Also included is a letter (measures 8 1/2" x 11"; 1 page) (Learn More) Jan Garber was a jazz bandleader and violinist from the 1910s to the 1970s. He became known as "The Idol of the Airwaves" in his heyday of the 1920s and 1930s, playing jazz in the vein of contemporaries such as Guy Lombardo. Some of his songs include: Melody from the Sky, Round Evening, and Weary River. Garber passed away in 1977 at the age of 82. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Jan Garber! Also note that this autograph was obtained through the mail, and included with the autograph is the envelope it was originally sent in (the envelope has a return address for Mr. Garber) and a letter from Mr. Garber's press manager. Note that this signed item was consigned to us from the personal collection of Johnny Crawford, who first came to fame as the son in the TV series "The Rifleman" and later became a band leader loved movies, and early on he collected many movie stills and more! He did not have a certificate of authenticity, but we think it is incredibly likely that the autograph is authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
