A Vintage Autographed Hardcover Book (measures 6" x 9" [15 x 23 cm]; 280 pages) (Learn More) George Abbott was a legendary Broadway and Hollywood writer/producer/director from the 1910s to the 1980s. He won a total of eleven Tony Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for "Fiorello!", and was nominated for an Oscar for writing "All Quiet on the Western Front". Some of his other movies include: Too Many Girls, The Pajama Game, and Damn Yankees. He passed away in 1995 at the age of 107! Important Added Info: Note that this book has been personally autographed (signed) by George Abbott! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that this is one of eleven books (in eleven separate auctions) that we were consigned that are from the estate of Dom DeLuise. All of the books were given to Mr. DeLuise by the people who signed them, and he added his bookplate to an early page of each volume. None have a certificate of authenticity, but all the autographs are 100% surely genuine. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
