An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Song of Songs, the 1933 Rouben Mamoulian romantic love triangle melodrama ("Thrill to the new Dietrich! - the woman of flame and desire!"; "From the story by Hermann Sudermann and the play by Edward Sheldon"; about a social climbing German peasant girl who falls in love with a sculptor and poses for a nude statue, but then she marries a rich baron because the sculptor won't commit; it is an unhappy marriage, and she leaves her husband and becomes a cabaret singer, sinking lower and lower before finally reuniting with her true love, the sculptor) starring Marlene Dietrich, Brian Aherne, Hardie Albright, Lionel Atwill, and Alison Skipworth. Note that actor Richard Bennett was originally cast in the role that eventually went to Lionel Atwill, and advertising was prepared crediting Bennett! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. The card has faded, causing the reds in the card to become much lighter. There is a diagonal crease in the top left corner. There are many pinholes around the edges (see our image). Many years ago, a restorer (likely Jim Sanchez of San Francisco) performed restoration to the card that likely involved bleaching, pressing, and flattening the card, and also putting tape on the back of pinholes and tears.
