Orphans of the Storm, the classic 1921 D.W. Griffith silent historical Paris France romantic family melodrama ("A dramatic epic"; "It is astounding! It is unbelievable! It is important!"; "Because of love a king was deposed and a republic born"; "By arrangement with Kate Claxton"; set during and after the French Revolution, with fictitious adopted sisters intertwined with famous historical figures) starring Lillian Gish, Dorothy Gish, Joseph Schildkraut, Frank Losee, Katherine Emmet (billed as "Catherine Emmett"), Morgan Wallace, Lucille La Verne, Monte Blue (as Danton), Sidney Herbert (as Robespierre), Lee Kohlmar (as King Louis XVI). Note that real-life sisters Lillian and Dorothy Gish play adopted sisters (one of whom was an orphan).

Condition: very good. The card had tears and small paper loss scattered down the right edge of the card (slightly extending into the background) and had some scuffs scattered in the image. Some talented restorer performed restoration to the back of the right edge of the card and very slight restoration to the front of that area. The card is slightly "rolled" in the portion of the right border that had the restoration, but otherwise, it displays really fantastically!
