An Autographed 5" x 7" [13 x 18 cm] Burlesque Publicity Photo (Learn More) Ann Corio was a legendary striptease artist and actress from the 1940s to the 1970s. She had a Broadway show and a book called "This Was Burlesque". She only appeared in five movies: Swamp Woman, Jungle Siren, Sarong Girl, the Sultan's Daughter, and Call of the Jungle. She later made several stage appearance including a traveling stage play performance of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (as Maggie the Cat) and then several TV appearances as the "Burlesque Queen"! She passed away in 1999 at the age of 84. Important Added Info: Note that this publicity photo has been personally autographed (signed) by Ann Corio! Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Note that burlesque performers in the 1950s to 1970s would work in a circuit of burlesque theaters throughout the U.S. and Canada (and sometimes other countries!). They would have publicity 8x10s like this one that they would send to theaters to try to get bookings. This publicity photo is an original from the time when this stripper performed.
