Note that by setting this movie in Hollywood, Universal was able to cleverly give all of their then current stars cameo roles as themselves, including Gloria Stuart, Genevieve Tobin, Sidney Fox, Tom Mix, Frank Albertson, Lew Ayres, and Boris Karloff!
