A 1958 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Mark of Zorro, the 1940 Rouben Mamoulian south-of-the-border masked hero romantic action adventure thriller ("The jagged mark of his sword struck terror to every heart - but one!"; "Who was the bold masked adventurer whose mocking laughter left terror in every heart - but one?"; "Based on the story by Johnston McCulley") starring Tyrone Power Jr. ("in the most famous of all screen roles"; in the title role as Zorro/Don Diego Vega), Linda Darnell (just 16 years old during filming!), Basil Rathbone, Gale Sondergaard, Eugene Pallette, Montagu Love, J. Edward Bromberg, Robert Lowery, Chris-Pin Martin, and Janet Beecher NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fair. The poster had staining in the nose of the unmasked image of Power, as well as paper loss at the top crossfold and many creases, tears, and areas of paper loss across the top foldline, and a lesser amount of wear on the other foldlines. There were creases, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was not very well backed at all, and the restorer painted over the entire nose area of the unmasked image of Power, and it is quite noticeable, as is some of the other restoration.
