An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Invisible Bond, the 1919 Charles Maigne silent marriage infidelity romantic love triangle melodrama ("Founded on 'The See-Saw' by Sophie Kerr Underwood"; about a woman whose husband flirts with a pretty woman at a party, and she is humiliated, but everything works out in the end) starring Irene Castle, Huntley Gordon, Claire Adams, Fleming Ward, and George Majeroni. Note that star Irene Castle was the wife of Vernon Castle, and together they were a legendary dance team, but she made some movie appearances without her husband, and this was one of them. In 1949, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers made a biography of them called "The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle". Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good.
