Now You can see the funniest stage hit in years!"; "Based on the Play by Norman Krasna") starring William Holden, Joan Caulfield (in the title role as Ruth Watkins), Billy De Wolfe, Edward Arnold, Mona Freeman, Mary Philips, Virginia Welles, and Kenny O'Morrison. Note that there is a urban legend connected to this movie! For many years, people spread the rumor that J.D. Salinger came up with the name for the lead character in The Catcher in the Rye from seeing William Holden and Joan Caulfield billed on a movie marquee, with their last names one above the other, and from that, he named his character Holden Caulfield. But the only problem with that is that the book came out a year and a half before the movie did! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good to very good. There are creases and smudges scattered throughout the poster.
