An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Dracula, the 1931 George Melford Universal vampire monster horror thriller starring Lupita Tovar, Barry Norton, Carlos Villarias (in the title role as Conde Dracula), Pablo Alvarez Rubio (as Renfield), Barry Norton, Eduardo Arozamena (as Van Helsing), and Jose Soriano Viosca. Note that this Spanish-language version was filmed on the same sets and at the same time as the English-language Bela Lugosi version of Dracula. The English-language version was filmed during the day, and the Spanish-language version was filmed at night.

Important Added Info: Note that first release movie paper from this Spanish language version of Dracula made in 1931 is beyond rare! We had never auctioned even one item of any sort from this 1931 Spanish movie until we were consigned this wonderful still (and also a Spanish herald, which we are auctioning elsewhere in our Halloween auction).

Condition: good. The still has paper loss, two horizontal creases, and some tiny surface paper loss, all in the top 1" of the still. Very fortunately, this is solely in the background and blank border area. There are a few faint creases scattered in the still. The right of the bottom blank border has been very slightly trimmed (because the still originally measured slightly over 10" high, so that was probably done so it would fit in a frame). Personally, I would leave this incredible (and incredibly rare) still exactly as it is, but certainly, one could choose to have restoration performed to the top area. Either way, I envy the new owner of this still and very much hope they display it on their wall!
