An Original Vintage Newspaper Supplement (measures 16 3/4" x 23" [43 x 58 cm]) (Learn More) The Lost World is a science fiction novel by British writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, first published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1912. It was about an expedition to a plateau in the Amazon basin of South America where prehistoric animals still survive. The novel also describes a war between indigenous people and a vicious tribe of ape-like creatures. The book has been adapted into several films, including the 1925 film which featured pioneering stop motion special effects by Willis O'Brien. Important Added Info: Note that this is a page from the Atlanta Georgia newspaper "The Constitution: from March 21, 1925. It has a great full page ad for the newspaper serialization of the novel of the Lost World which was being published in this newspaper to take advantage of the then newly released movie of the same name. However, note that the image of dinosaurs in this ad is from scientists creating models of the dinosaurs and NOT a scene from the movie, but we doubt anyone at that time realized that unless they read the fine print. Also, please note that because this newspaper page is so fragile, it will need to be sent in a large flat package that measures approximately 19" x 25" because it could not possibly be rolled. Condition: good. The newspaper is extremely fragile and has darkened around the edges and has small areas of paper loss. It absolutely could be mounted and displayed and enjoyed, but bear the above in mind before bidding on this. Learn More about condition grades
