A 1978 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Folded German Movie Poster (23x33; measures approximately 23" x 33") (Learn More)

Munchhausen (released in the U.S. as "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen"), the 1943 Josef von Baky German fantasy adventure comedy (based on the exaggerated fantasy stories by Rudolf Erich Raspe) starring Hans Albers (in the title role as Baron Munchhausen), Wilhelm Bendow, Brigitte Horney, Kathe Haack, Ilse Werner, and Eduard von Winterstein. Note that the screenplay on this movie was reportedly written by "Berthold Burger", but the movie actually carries no screenwriting credit at all! Why? Because the screenplay was actually written by Erich Kastner, whose books had been banned in Germany in 1933 (and all copies were burned). But when this movie was made, Joseph Goebbels assigned him to write the script for it, but only on the condition that he not reveal to anyone that he had done so. So there was not credit in the movie, and it was only on the actual script that Kastner used the alias "Berthold Burger"!
