Date Sold 7/11/2013 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Anna Sten was a Russian/Swedish (born in Kiev, what is now Ukraine) actress from the 1920s to the 1950s. Samuel Goldwyn saw her in a German movie, and thought she could become another Garbo or Dietrich, and he signed her to a Hollywood contract, not knowing she could not speak English! After a year of intensive English studying, Goldwyn cast her as the lead in "Nana", but the movie was not very successful, and Goldwyn made two more movies with her, but then gave up, and she only made a handful more movies. Some of her movies include: Devushka s Korobkoy, So Ends Our Night, The Wedding Night, Bomben auf Monte Carlo, and We Live Again. She passed away in 1993 at the age of 84. Condition: good to very good. Some of the stills have varying degrees of staple holes, creases, ink stains and/or scuffs, but several stills are in pretty nice condition.
