An Original 1972 Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style D One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Sam Peckinpah's Straw Dogs, the classic 1971 (released in the U.S. in 1972) Sam Peckinpah English/U.S. ultra violent rape revenge crime thriller ("Special Notice : 'Straw Dogs' unleashes such dramatic intensity that this theatre is scheduling a 5-minute interval between all performances"; "The knock at the door meant the birth of a man and the death of seven others."; based on the novel 'The Siege of Trencher's Farm' by Gordon M. Williams) starring Dustin Hoffman, Susan George ("as Amy"), Del Henney, Peter Vaughan, and T.P. McKenna. Note that this movie was VERY controversial when it first came out. Many felt that it glorified violence and that it pretty overtly implied that a man isn't a "real man" until he kills a few people! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had extra creases along many of the folds, with many creases down the middle left, especially in Hoffman's face. There was fine surface paper loss along most of the folds and the extra folds. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
