Date Sold 3/12/2024 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 4 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Follow Teacher, the 1928 Charles Lamont silent comedy short ("Big Boy juvenile comedies") starring Malcolm Sebastian (as Big Boy), Evelyn Mills, Al Thompson, Bert Young, Georgia O'Dell, and Billy Barty. Note that this was one of a series of 28 "Big Boy" comedy shorts from Educational Pictures, made between 1925 and 1929; the star of the series was an extremely large baby, Big Boy, who could pass for a much older child; obviously, this was an imitation of the super successful "Our Gang" shorts, but they never achieved the same success; it appears that in 1929, Hal Roach hired away the star of these shorts, Malcolm 'Big Boy' Sebastian, to become one of the Our Gang members, still playing "Big Boy", but he only made a single movie in 1930, "Shivering Shakespeare"; if anyone knows more about why the "Big Boy" series ended, and whether Roach hired Sebastian away, or whether he simply went to the "Our Gang" producer after the "Big Boy" series was cancelled, and why he never made anymore movies, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
