An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French "Affiche" Movie Poster (23x32; measures 23 3/4" x 31 1/2" [60 x 80 cm]) (Learn More) The Flesh and the Fiends (released in the U.S. in 1961 as "Mania"), the 1960 John Gilling English grave-robbing horror crime thriller ("Violent crime with and without passion!"; "Murder was their business!"; one of many movies inspired by the true life grave-robbing crimes of Englishmen Burke and Hare) starring Peter Cushing, Donald Pleasence (as William Hare), George Rose (as William Burke), June Laverick, Dermot Walsh, Billie Whitelaw, and Melvyn Hayes. Note that Burke and Hare were an incredibly notorious pair of English grave robbers who sold the bodies to doctors for medical experimentation! It was a major scandal in England, and their story has spawned many, many movies, including 1945's "The Body Snatcher" starring Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: J. Koutachy Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has become somewhat brittle with age and it is completely separated along the right half of the horizontal fold and there are lesser amounts of separation at the ends of the foldlines. There are three conservation tape repairs on the back of the poster (one at the crossfold and at the ends of the horizontal fold). There is some tattering and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster. Fortunately, the poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it is mostly 'all there' and once linenbacked it will look great! Learn More about condition grades
