An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked English Three-Sheet (called a 6sh in England) Movie Poster (3sh; measures 40" x 88 1/4" [102 x 224 cm]) (Learn More) Women Men Forget, the 1920 John M. Stahl silent romantic marriage infidelity melodrama (about a woman who has an old best friend from school come visit, but the "friend" sleeps with the woman's husband, and the woman, who is pregnant, goes to live with friends; after she has her baby, she decides to get revenge on her husband and a friend of hers causes him to go bankrupt, which causes the girlfriend to desert him, and then the wife reconsiders and reunites with her husband and baby!) starring Mollie King (billed as "Molly King"), Edward Langford, Frank Mills, Lucy Fox, and Jane Jennings. Note that the screenplay for this movie was written by Paul Bern, who, in one of Hollywood's most bizarre episodes ever (which is saying a lot!), married the much young Jean Harlow in 1932 and then shot himself after their honeymoon, apologizing for "a frightful wrong" in a suicide note! It has been rumored that he was actually murdered, and the suicide was a coverup by MGM "fixers"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that due to the great height of the poster (it measures 40" x 88 1/4" [102 x 224 cm]), we need to photograph it in two different shots, and then "join" them together. This join is near the top of the poster, running through the man's forehead. It makes it look as though there is some kind of foldline or defect in that area, but there definitely is not! Also note that this is one of two styles of three-sheets created for this movie (the other shows art of a very sad woman). Both are from the first release of the movie. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had varying amounts of paper loss at the crossfolds and varying amounts of paper loss on parts of some folds. There was some darkening and tiny paper loss in small parts of the borders. The person who backed the poster did no real restoration, simply filling in a solid color in the areas of paper loss on the folds (see our image). Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
