An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Phantom of the Opera, the 1943 Arthur Lubin Universal musical horror thriller ("The Screen's Classic of Terror!"; based on the classic novel by Gaston Leroux, and a remake of the silent classic featuring Lon Chaney Sr.) starring Nelson Eddy, Susanna Foster (as Christine), Claude Rains (in the title role as Erique Claudin, the Phantom of the Opera), Edgar Barrier (as Raoul), Leo Carrillo, Jane Farrar, J. Edward Bromberg, Fritz Feld, Hume Cronyn, and "a cast of thousands"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: NOTE: In this case, the #4 in the title of the sale is not the number of the lobby card. Because we are selling more than one lobby card from this movie this week as separate eBay sales, we needed to differentiate the different sales, and we did so by marking them "#1, #2, #3, etc..". Condition: good to very good. there were staple holes and small tears in the left, top, and right borders; the staple in the top right corner was roughly removed and there is image loss in the top right corner of the image; someone put tape on the front of the card in four places on the border, both on the front and back of the card; the tape is long since gone but it has left yellow tape stains in those four places in the borders just extending into the image; there are some light smudges in the yellow background of the title box. The card is in better condition than the above makes it sound. The actual image area is in quite nice condition. The card's defects are mainly in the borders, and any talented restorer could surely greatly improve the appearance of the card without putting a lot of paint anywhere on the card (and none in the image area)!
