The Man who put the Man in roMANce"; "Directed by Alfred Hitchcock Director of 'The Man Who Knew Too Much"; "A hundred steps ahead of any picture this year"; from the novel by John Buchan; perhaps Alfred Hitchcock's best movie ever; there are too many wonderful plot twists and clever moments to describe here, but everyone should see this excellent movie!) starring Robert Donat, Madeleine Carroll, Lucie Mannheim, Godfrey Tearle, Peggy Ashcroft, Gus McNaughton, Jerry Verno, and Wylie Watson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned this scene card, and that was 5 years ago. It sold for $1,777, and the person who purchased the card has reconsigned it, so it is still the only example of this card we have ever auctioned! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The bottom 3" of the card was folded back, as was the left 3 1/4" and right 3/4" (so that the card could be displayed in an 8" x 10" frame), but those areas were not trimmed off. There were also tiny pinholes in the blank borders. A really superb restorer flattened those creases and then performed the slightest of restoration to the front of those areas so that it is now invisible, except on the absolute closest inspection. The card was not backed, and had no other restoration, and it looks incredible! Learn More about condition grades
