An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Getting Buster's Goat, the 1929 Gus Meins silent juvenile comedy short ("One of the famous 'Buster Brown' comedies by R.F. Outcault"; based on the extremely popular cartoon characters by Outcault) starring Arthur Trimble (in the title role as Buster Brown), Doreen Turner, and Pete the Dog (as Tige). Note that Pete the Dog played Tige in all the Buster Brown movies starting in 1924. He also became Pete the Pup in the Our Gang movies, and he played that role until 1931, appearing in an amazing 90 movies over those seven years. Supposedly, he lived for another 15 years after he retired! Also note that the Stern Brothers were a very energetic pair of producers who made over 500 silent comedy shorts between 1917 and 1929! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had an extra horizontal fold above the regular top and bottom ones. It had tiny paper loss at the bottom crossfold with minor wear on the foldlines. It had paper loss in the bottom of the bottom blank border. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
