An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian Movie Poster (measures 13" x 37 3/4") (Learn More) La Notte (released in the U.S. as "La Notte [The Night]" and "The Night [La Notte]"), the 1961 Michelangelo Antonioni French/Italian estranged-couple romantic melodrama ("A new genre of motion picture ...to make you think and feel") starring Jeanne Moreau, Marcello Mastroianni, Monica Vitti, Bernhard Wicki, and Rosi Mazzacurati NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this Italian poster measures 13" x 37 3/4" and that it is linenbacked. Apparently this was a special size poster that was created at this time, sort of a cross between a photobusta and a locandina. Also note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this Italian movie! Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. The poster had many light creases and scuffs throughout the poster (more so around the edges and in the center of the poster in the background area. The poster was well linenbacked.
