An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked British Double Crown Movie Poster (measures 20" x 30") (Learn More) Another Shore, the 1948 Charles Crichton English Ealing Studios romantic screwball comedy ("She loved a man, he loved an island"; a clever plot with a young Irishman wanting to not work and retire in Tahiti, and he comes up with the wacky idea of standing outside a college, hoping that a wealthy person will be in a traffic accident, and that he can rescue that person and his reward will be his retirement in Tahiti; a beautiful young girl keeps trying to interest him, but he is very focused on his goal, and he manages to become friends with a rich man who offers to take him to Tahiti, but as luck would have it, as they are leaving, they are in a traffic accident!) starring Robert Beatty, Stanley Holloway, Moira Lister, Michael Medwin, and Wilfrid Brambell. Note that this movie was released in the U.S. in 1951, but we have never seen or heard of any movie paper from that release, and movie paper of any sort from this off-beat movie is extremely rare! Note that this was an early movie in director Charles Crichton's career. Three years later, he would direct "The Lavender Hill Mob", one of the most classic English comedies ever! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Also note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this English movie! Finally, note that this British double crown poster measures 20" x 30". Condition: very good. This poster was paperbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about paperbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was never folded and was in quite nice condition prior to paperbacking, and it was well backed, and looks great! Learn More about condition grades
