Artist: Joseph Smith Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thicker paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled (someone could conceivably roll it or try to do so, but we think it would have a strong chance of lessening its condition, so we will only send it in a very large flat package, unless the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster was never folded. It had a large triangular area of paper loss in the top left corner that extended into the top two-thirds of the "H" and a tiny bit of the top of the "A". There were also tears and tiny paper loss in the "LF" in that same area, and there was a diagonal crease running from the top border through the middle of the "LF" and into the background below it. There were many pinholes around the edges, with some tiny paper loss, small stains, and tape stains scattered in the rest of the borders. There was small surface paper loss in the top right corner of the image, with two tiny bits of paper loss above the "He fought" of the tagline at top right. Other than the above defects, the poster was in surprisingly nice condition. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. Someone performed restoration to most of the above defects, but they did not completely fix the surface paper loss in the "LF" at top left or the surface paper loss described at top right (either that, or the poster acquired that after it was restored). The poster can be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly, one could choose to have slight additional restoration performed, without re-backing the poster. Either way, the poster will display well on the new owner's wall! Learn More about condition grades
