An Autographed 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" [11 x 15 cm] Cut Album Page (Learn More) Lupe Velez was a well loved Mexican actress during the late 1920s to the early 1940s and best remembered as Carmelita Lindsay in the "Mexican Spitfire" series of movies. Her romantic life, however, was a disaster (including a battling on again off again romance with Johnny Weissmuller), so much so that in 1944, she committed suicide with sleeping pills while pregnant with her first child. Some of her movies include: Kongo, The Half Naked Truth, The Gaucho, The Squaw Man, Mexican Spitfire Out West, Mexican Spitfire, and the Girl from Mexico. AND Brian Aherne was an English actor from the 1920s to the 1960s. Some of his movies include: Forever and a Day, I Confess, Juarez (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film, as the Emperor Maximilian), Titanic, and The Song of Songs Important Added Info: This cut album page has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH Lupe Velez AND Brian Aherne (each signed on a different side of the page, and we have photographed both sides). It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display! Note that this item was consigned to us by an individual who owned a company that made movies and videos with famous celebrities in the 1980s and 1990s. The owner of the company would have the celebrities sign items from their famous films, and he also had correspondence with many famous celebrities which he saved. In addition, he would sometimes ask celebrities he came in contact with if they had signed items from other stars that they would sell to him, and he purchased a number of items that way. He also would purchase unsigned items from the famed Larry Edmunds Bookshop in Los Angeles or from other reputable Hollywood book stores and poster shops (to have the celebrities sign), and while he was doing that he would also purchase some of their signed items. So all of these autographed items we are auctioning were either obtained in person, obtained from celebrities who obtained them in person, or obtained from reputable Hollywood book stores, and we feel certain that the autograph(s) on this item is authentic! Condition: good. There is a star pattern that appears to be in the printing that affects the signature, and someone glued three small photos of Miss Velez to one side, and one of Mr. Aherne to the other side.
