An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded English Three-Sheet (called a 6sh in England) Movie Poster (3sh; measures 39 3/4" x 79 1/4" [101 x 201 cm]) (Learn More) The Conquest of Everest, the 1953 George Lowe English Nepal/Tibet Himalayas mountain climbing hiking sports documentary ("The Supreme Adventure of Our Time!"; "The 1953 Expedition with Hunt, Hillary and Tensing"; about the first successful ascent of Mt. Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tensing Norgay) narrated by Meredith Edwards. Note that the expedition was led by English Army Officer John Hunt, but he did not make the final ascent to the top of the mountain, and for that reason, his name is pretty much lost to history, although he got top billing over Hillary and "Tensing" (which is how they billed Tensing Norgay, the Nepalese Sherpa who led them to the top of the mountain) on the English posters, which were made right after the event occurred. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: EMC Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this English three-sheet, which is a "country of origin" poster for this English movie, and that was 6 years ago! Also note that this English three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good. The two pieces of the poster were once taped together, and there are tape stains in that area. There are some creases and several tears along the folds that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on the other folds, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. Learn More about condition grades
