An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Belgian Movie Poster (measures approximately 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Bright Eyes, the 1934 David Butler musical juvenile orphan comedy starring Shirley Temple, James Dunn, Jane Darwell, Judith Allen, Lois Wilson, Jane Withers, and Terry (the dog who would go on to play Toto in the 1939 Wizard of Oz). Note that this was the movie where Shirley Temple sang "On the Good Ship Lollipop." NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this Belgian poster, and that was 8 years ago! Also note that this is a rare "pre-War" Belgian poster. Prior to World War II, Belgian posters were much larger than the ones from after the war, and they are extremely rare (because during WWII, there was a massive paper shortage in Belgium, and they took virtually every poster and map, and printed new posters on the backs of them!). The poster had a few tiny tears on the folds and a foreign stamp in the top left, with many smudges in both stars' faces (which may have been a printing defect or may be an acquired defect. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed "as is", with very little restoration. Any restorer could perform touch up to the stars' faces if the new owner chooses, either with or without re-backing the poster, but bear this in mind before bidding.
