NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Artist: Dick Calkins
Important Added Info: Note that in the 1930s, Whitman Publishing had great success with "Big Little Books", which were tiny books that each had an image on one side and text on the other. They were mostly aimed at children and teenagers, and often were adapted from comic strips, comic books, movies, etc. They also made "Big Big Books", which measured 7 1/2" x 9 1/2", but otherwise were extremely similar to the Big Little Books. They are quite rare, and few survive! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.

Condition: fair. The spine is missing. Someone taped a piece of cardboard to that area. The front and back covers are separated from the rest of the book. The interior pages are all there, but they are fragile and darkened, more so around the edges. Bear this book's substantial condition defects in mind before placing a bid on it.
