Declaration Des Deputes d'Alsace-Lorraine (literally translates to "Declaration of the Deputies of Alsace-Lorraine"), the 1914 French World War I (WWI) poster with a quote from an 1871 declaration which was read by Jules Grosjean to the National Assembly in Bordeaux. The declaration was in reference to the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871) in which Germany was victorious and France was forced to cede Alsace and northern Lorraine. Once World War I broke out, recovery of the two lost provinces became the top French war goal. Note that this poster features Lucien Jonas art of a shackled woman wearing traditional Alsatian clothing

Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has some creases and tiny tears along portions of some edges and tiny paper loss in po the outer blank border edges (see our image). Especially given its age it is otherwise in pretty nice condition!
