An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Kings Row, the classic 1942 Sam Wood (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) small town family relationship medical doctor romantic melodrama ("The town they talk of in whispers"; "From the novel by Henry Bellamann"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; a very strange movie about the goings-on in a small town; a mentally unhinged doctor intentionally amputates Reagan's healthy legs as a sadistic punishment; this is the movie where Reagan, after waking from the "operation" utters the classic line, "Where's the rest of me?") starring Ann Sheridan, Robert Cummings (Bob Cummings), Ronald Reagan, Betty Field, Charles Coburn, Claude Rains, Judith Anderson, Nancy Coleman, Kaaren Verne, Maria Ouspenskaya, Harry Davenport, Ernest Cossart, and Scotty Beckett NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Also note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1942, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good.
