An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8 1/4" x 10 1/4" [21 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Anna Sten was a Russian/Swedish (born in Kiev, what is now Ukraine) actress from the 1920s to the 1950s. Samuel Goldwyn saw her in a German movie, and thought she could become another Garbo or Dietrich, and he signed her to a Hollywood contract, not knowing she could not speak English! After a year of intensive English studying, Goldwyn cast her as the lead in "Nana", but the movie was not very successful, and Goldwyn made two more movies with her, but then gave up, and she only made a handful more movies. Some of her movies include: Devushka s Korobkoy, So Ends Our Night, The Wedding Night, Bomben auf Monte Carlo, and We Live Again. She passed away in 1993 at the age of 84. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Anna Sten! Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahony Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him). Our consignor (and we) feel certain that the autograph on this still is authentic! Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10 1/4" [21 x 26 cm]. Condition: good to very good.
