An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures approximately 27" x 40") (Learn More) Love Me Tender, the 1956 Robert D. Webb Civil War romantic rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) musical ("Mr. Rock 'N' Roll in the story he was born to play!"; "...singin' man ...fightin' man ...lovin' man"; "Based on a story by Maurice Geraghty") starring Richard Egan, Debra Paget, Elvis Presley (billed as "introducing Elvis Presley in his first motion picture"; in his first movie!), Robert Middleton, William Campbell, Neville Brand, Mildred Dunnock, Bruce Bennett, and James Drury. Note that producer Hal Wallis intended the 1957 film "Loving You" to be the first Elvis film. However, six months before the start of production for that project, Wallis loaned Elvis to 20th Century Fox and "Love Me Tender" became his first movie. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. There are areas of paper loss scattered in the top quarter of the poster, but pretty amazingly, they are virtually all in the white background areas. There is light ink transfer in most of the white background areas (caused by the poster being folded too quickly after printing). It is quite likely that all or most surviving examples of this poster would have the exact same ink transfer. The paper loss in the white background and the ink transfer in the white background mean that this poster would not be at all difficult to restore, and after a simple linenbacking, there would only be paint required in the white background areas, and the poster would look fantastic!
